I believe the man is mad.

The Servant - 1963 British movie 仆人

Absolutely brilliant!
Love the music, gentle and soft
Characters:
Tony -- a young Londoner, aristocratic, gradually depends on the Servant totally, hopeless
Susan -- Tony's girlfriend, aristocratic, failed to overrule the servant.
Barrett -- developed character, being a servant as the start, then turns the table around and ends up as the master in Tony's house.  'Give me another chance,' -- quote from the servant.
Vera -- Barrett's lover; before her presence, one would think the issue of the movie was homosexual.
implication - big time change in Britain history / how up-class lost their authority

喜欢其音乐，温婉柔和

A loving English mother of two falls in love with an Italian man and runs off with him.
To bring their mother home, the two children journey from London to the Villa Fiorita in Italy where they team up with the daughter of the man. This is when the battle begins.
Farily gripping and enjoyable.
The landscape are beautiful, too.  

有着两个孩子的英国妈妈爱上一个意大利男人并离家随其而去。
两个孩子为把妈妈找回来，从伦敦来到意大利这对儿的住处，在此，两个孩子联合意大利男人的女儿，开始与大人们的战争。

The Hallelujah Trail -- 1965 American comedy                       中文影片名字      禁酒风波

The movie is hilarious and I laughed all the way through.
The word Hallelujah in contemporary worship is in general to express the thanks and praise to the Lord.
The informal usage of HALLELUJAH is to show happiness on something that people have hoped to happen at long last comes true.

Settings,
1860s sometimes after American Civil War (1861 to 1865). The white settlers just made peace with the Indians.
A mining town is named Denver which is located in a mountain area where the snow will close all the passes to the other places when the hard winter comes.
The landscapes in the movie are magnificent.

The key storyline is that the 40 wagons of liquor are supposed to transport to Denver before the snow comes.
This is involved a few groups of people fighting for it.
The first group of people is the minners who love to have a glass of whiskey in winter.
Frank, a buisiness man has his every penny tied up in the 40 wagons train.
Cora, a temperance leader, groups wemen to destroy the alcohol train.
Other groups are the local Indians and the army of the USA.
This is just a start.

故事时间和地点
故事时间设置在美国南北战争后的1861年至1865年之间，白人刚刚与印第安人签署和平协议。
故事地点设在被山脉环绕的小矿城 Denver， 冬天即将来临，也同时意味着大雪将阻断所有通向外部的道路。

In the potent biographic film, I fell in love with her songs and her soul.
How could the Little Sparrow - height in 142 cm - has such a powerful voice?
How did the waif-like woman manage to go through all odds of her life and yet kept coming back to the stage?
She was Ms Edith Piaf, the famed worldwide French singer who was one of the few singers above wars.



No Regrets - one of her signture songs. It's Exactly My Life - quote from Eidth Piaf.




I have to admit that I got confused while watching the movie. It jumps back and forth, sometimes without givng timelines. It's not clear until reading a lot of the singer and watching heaps of her live show videos that I was able to put all of these pieces together.
Piaf was marvellous. The perfermance of the actress was extraordinary. The director incredibly showed the way the singer lived her life. It's an unforgettable movie.

bluff, a steep cliff/named after lots of towns; an attempt to deceive someone into believing that one can or is going to do something
A story of one of the oldest American themes - a cowboy comes to a big city
a common seen sterotype of a hero - a man of few words and many actions
This is Coogan's first visit to the New York city. Apparently he doesn't know a lot but he does know his own mind.
'How many stores are there in this town named Bloo..?' the cowboy asks.
'One,' the cabbie answers.
'Well, we passed it twice,' the cowboy laconically says with slit-eyed hostility.

3 girls were left at the orphanage in the middle of Seventies.
Jinhee, a 9 year-old, father remarried, adopted by a French family
Sookhee, an 11 year-old, adopted by an American couple
Yeshin, disability, taken away.  We don't know where.

A Frozen Flower    2008 South Korean movie

a brilliant masterpiece that I would like to draw a conlusion to this movie, well, apart from a bit too much of nudity? too much homosexual and heterosexual shots? The story is truely fascinating; the acting of all the three protagonists is superb; and the costumes and sets are a real feast for the eyes. Can't have enough.

It mixes all of emotions that human could feel. The last part, when Hong LIM sees that the Queen is alive, he twistes his head to look onto the King whom he once looked up to, love to, protected by; the Kind did not kill his loved one. A tear sheds ... the last drop!

Is it the King's fault to have such an abundance of deep affection with his gay lover?
Or is Hong Lim the one to be blamed for being confused between being a queer or being a man to love the King or to love the queen?
A woman is neglected by her husband and has her virginity to a man. What do you expect her to do?

I don't often see this side of the America. The film took me into the quite depressing world of an unfortunate girl.
Precious, a 16 year old obese girl, lives in Harlem (a district of Manhattan in New York, largely a Black ghetto)
Precious is not precious to anybody. The girl has been miserable for her entire time on the earth, raped by her father since she was 3, abused both mentally and physically by her mother. She's also illiterate.
She hardly talks. We see her often imagining herself a star and be loved and applauded, a means of her putting off with nightmares?
